The man accused of stalking a Chinese food delivery man and shooting him to death on a Forest Hills street has been released on $500,000 bail.
Glenn Hirsch, 51, of Briarwood, has been placed on house arrest and has been fitted with an ankle monitor, according to a statement from the office of Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
Early Sunday morning, a shooting with a reported assault rifle broke out near Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park, leaving one dead and two injured.
Police in the 106th Precinct responded to the call just after 5 a.m. and found a 38-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was later pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
A student at Forest Hills High School is due back in court on July 5 for allegedly writing a threat to carry out a shooting at the school on a desk.
The NYPD said the incident took place on April 26. A press release said he was charged with aggravated harassment. The New York Post reported that Diego Sarmiento, the student, also was charged with making a terroristic threat — a class D felony — criminal mischief and making graffiti.
