Monsters and characters showed up in droves for the Bayside Historical Society’s 20th annual Totten Trot this Halloween.

The runners gathered at the starting line right in front of the BHS’s headquarters, top left. The course took them through Fort Totten, with a portion of the run sweeping along the waterfront of Little Bay Park, where Bandit, a border collie from Bayside, cheered them on.

The Howard Beach School, for the first time since 2019. Students in pre-K through fifth grade were able to show off their best costumes in the schoolyard to the delight of their teachers and families.

Kids and adults alike had a ball celebrating Halloween early at the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic Association’s Haunt N’ Treat event, held last Saturday along Cross Bay Boulevard.

Businesses prepared Halloween treats for each child who previously had gotten a ticket to the sold-out event.
