Robber hits up bank in Jackson Heights

Police are searching for the robber who made off with $2,908 from a bank branch in Jackson Heights around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He passed a note that said he had a gun and wanted money to the teller in the Santander Bank location at 83-20 Roosevelt Ave. 

No one was hurt. The robber fled on foot southbound on Baxter Avenue, turning eastward at Glean Street.

The NYPD describes the suspect as a Hispanic who is between 5 feet 10 to 11 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a blue hoodie, a black baseball hat and tan pants.
