A man was shot to death on an Elmhurst street last Sunday afternoon, police reported.

The victim, whom police had not yet identified as of Wednesday, was discovered at or near the corner of Manila Street and Kneeland Avenue just after 5 p.m., when officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting, the NYPD said. He had been shot in the head.

Emergency Medical Services responded and declared the victim dead at the scene. Police said the man may have been in his 20s and their identification of him is pending proper notification of his family. No one has been arrested and their investigation is ongoing, they said.

The site of the shooting is just north of the Long Island Rail Road tracks and west of Grand Avenue, yards from where Kneeland makes a hairpin turn after Manila runs into it. It is in the 110th Precinct.

Anyone with information about the killing may call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are confidential.
