Police precincts across the city — and their counterparts across the country — held their annual National Night Out Against Crime events on Tuesday, celebrating relations between those in uniform and the public they serve with fun family entertainment.

The 115th Precinct held its party at Northern Park on Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights, at the edge of East Elmhurst. Its officers serve those two communities and northern Corona, and turnout, above, was high.

Among the many celebrating were honoree Lisa Atkins, center left at top, of Borough President Melinda Katz’s office; state Assemblyman Michael Den Dekker, left; City Councilman Francisco Moya; Inspector Carlos Ortiz, the 115th Precinct’s commanding officer; Councilman Danny Dromm; Janice Scurry, president of the 115th Precinct Community Council; Community Board 3 District Manager Giovanna Reid; state Sen. Jessica Ramos; and Councilman Costa Constantinides.

Welcome to the discussion.
