Violent robbers at large in west Queens

NYPD: Pair pounces on pedestrians in Jackson Heights and Elmhurst

Police are searching for two men behind a string of violent robberies in August.

At about 5 a.m. on Aug. 2, the perps went up behind a 34-year-old man walking home at 42nd Avenue and Warren Street in Elmhurst, knocking him to the ground. They punched and kicked him before stealing his wallet, which had cash and credit cards. The victim sustained minor injuries.

The next four robberies took place in Jackson Heights. The goons struck in front of 35-30 87 St. on Aug. 16 around 4:30 a.m. They went up to a 52-year-old man from behind when he was walking home. The victim again ended up on the ground, getting punched and kicked before the men took his cell phone and $40. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Around 1 a.m. a day later, they robbed a 36-year-old man in front of 37-28 91 St. Attacking from behind, they knocked him to the ground and took his necklace. The victim was removed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.

Then, on Aug. 18 around 3 a.m. in front of 91-08 Elmhurst Ave., the robbers grabbed a 57-year-old man from behind, threw him to the ground and took his phone and credit cards. The victim wasn’t seriously hurt.

Lastly, the perps went up to a 37-year-old man around 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 22. They punched him, taking his wallet, cell phone and $200. He did not get serious injuries.
