Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man in connection with a Forest Hills robbery.

On Saturday Aug. 10 at approximately 9:40 a.m., a 68-year-old woman was shopping inside 118-27 Queens Blvd. — a Food 99 Cent Discount store near Union Turnpike and the first and last stop on the Q46 — when the man approached her and stole her purse.

The man fled on foot on Queens Boulevard; police did not say which way. The purse contained a debit card and $150. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man who was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, blue jeans, white and black sneakers, a blue long sleeve shirt and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. Tips are confidential.
