One man was killed and six people were injured on the eastbound side of the Long Island Expressway last Thursday afternoon after a black Honda SUV veered to the left and flipped over the central divider.

The vehicle landed in the westbound lane, where it was struck by four others. The 67-year-old driver of the Honda SUV was found in critical condition with severe body injuries. EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead. Six were injured at the scene, with four being transported to the hospital in stable condition and two refusing medical attention.

One driver, George Conroy, 50, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator.
