The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a rape in Laurelton on May 30 in the vicinity of 224th Street and 130th Avenue.

Police said Michael Hosang, 53, is a black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes. He was last seen driving a red Chevrolet pickup truck with the Florida license plate JZEY32.

Police suspect he raped the 29-year-old victim multiple times in his home between the hours of 6 a.m. and noon before she freed herself by jumping out a window. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.

In a separate incident, police have arrested a Rosedale man for allegedly raping a 78-year-old woman in her home on June 2.

Ryan Bayard, 30, of 149th Avenue, has been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act, according to a statement from the office of Acting District Attorney John Ryan.

“The victim in this case should have been safe in her home,” Ryan said. “Instead, she was violently awakened by an attacker, who allegedly held a pillow to her face and viciously sexually assaulted her repeatedly while saying vile things. The defendant allegedly showed not an ounce of mercy to this woman, who was old enough to be his grandmother.” He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
