Can you ID the guy who sucker punched an old man in Corona last month? That’s the question from police as they seek the public’s assistance in identifying the perpetrator.

The unknown individual approached his 70-year-old victim at about 11:20 a.m. May 12 in front of 103-12 39 Ave. and, without saying anything, struck him with a closed fist on the mouth and threw him on the ground.

Once the victim was on the ground, the individual kicked him, before fleeing the location on foot, westbound along 39th Avenue. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The unidentified individual is described as a male Hispanic, 25 to 35 years old, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build, brown eyes, black hair and a goatee. He has tattoos on his right hand. He was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
