Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death of a man on July 30.

Christopher Lewis, 20, of 200th Street in St. Albans, was charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of Tishawn Smith, also 20, according to a press release issued by the NYPD.

According to the department, officers from the 113th Precinct responded to a 911 call that came in at 10:25 p.m. reporting that a man had been stabbed at the address where Lewis lives.

Officers said they found Smith suffering from a stab wound to his neck.

EMS personnel arrived on scene and transported Smith, of 176th Place in St. Albans, to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The initial police report said only that an unidentified 20-year-old had been taken into custody at the scene without incident and with charges pending.

Police said officers recovered a knife at the scene. Lewis’ arrest and the charges against him were announced a day later. No information was immediately available on possible court dates.
