A 42-year-old Brooklyn man faces up to a year in jail for allegedly trying to lure young girls into his car in Corona and Flushing.

Acting Queens District Attorney John Ryan announced Friday that Eddie Rodriguez of Crown Heights was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, public lewdness, fourth-degree grand larceny and three counts of second-degree harassment.

Around 6:30 p.m. on May 6, he allegedly pulled his silver Nissan up next to a 12-year-old girl walking on Van Cleef Street in Corona and asked her for directions to a nearby hospital. Rodriguez told the kid that his phone wasn't working and asked to borrow hers, prosecutors said.

After getting her phone, he allegedly ordered her to get into his car.

She refused.

She managed to get her phone back from him, but right as that was happening Rodriguez allegedly started touching his exposed penis in front of her.

That was just the first incident described by the District Attorney's Office. On April 4 a little before 3 p.m., prosecutors said, Rodriguez drove up to a 14-year-old girl walking near 156th Street and 43rd Avenue in Flushing.

He allegedly asked if he could use her phone. And then when she tried to help him, it was snatched from her hands.

The girl went up to Rodriguez's car to try and get the phone back. But he allegedly kept on touching his exposed penis and refused to give it back, saying, "when I finish." He eventually returned the device.

Pictures of his car were circulated to the media and he was arrested.
