A 75-year-old Hillcrest man who tried to meet a 13-year-old girl he met online for sex pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted rape on Wednesday, prosecutors said.

According to the office of Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Joel Einhorn of Utopia Parkway will be required to register as a sex offender and is expected to be sentenced to five months in jail and a decade of probation on Nov. 28.

A state police investigator pretending to be a 13-year-old girl responded to a Craiglist ad called "Daddy looking for 'real' Queens 'girl' No Flakes (M4W)" in October 2016.

Einhorn talked to the investigator online between Oct. 18 and Nov. 17 of that year. He was repeatedly told he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl who lived in Queens.

In his message, the Hillcrest resident spoke of his plans to sexually please the would-be-13-year-old girl and his wish to meet up with her for sex, the District Attorney's Office said.

On Nov. 17, 2016, Einhorn went to a pre-arranged location where he was planning to meet the girl. He was arrested there, with the authorities finding an open black bag with sexual paraphernalia in his red 2015 Honda Civic.

"This case underscores the importance of internet surveillance by law enforcement to protect children from sexual predators," Brown said in a prepared statement. "Parents must closely monitor their children’s internet activities and not let youngsters become victims of sexual predators.”
