The NYPD is continuing to investigate the death of a 60-year-old woman who was run over by a reportedly stolen car on Tuesday.

The woman was struck in Jamaica at the intersection of Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica while she was attempting to cross Archer at about 9:15 p.m. Police have still not released the woman’s identity as of Friday morning

Published reports state that the Huyndai Sonata that struck her had been reported stolen a short time beforehand, and that the driver was being pursued by police as he approached the intersection of Sutphin and Archer, just north of the Long Island Rail Road’s Jamaica Station.

Reports said the man jumped out of the car, which continued rolling, struck the woman and jumped the curb.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1 (888) 57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
