The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted for a pair of taxi robberies that took place 10 minutes and less than 10 blocks apart in South Jamaica on Aug. 20.

Police said the first took place in front of 118-40 154 St. at about 11:30 a.m. when a man called a cab service and requested to be picked up.

As the driver pulled up a man opened the front passenger door, displayed a gun and robbed him of $185 and two cell phones. The gunman ran off north on 154th before hopping into a red four-door sedan to flee the scene.

He turned up 10 minutes later in front of 118-83 145 St. Again he called for a cab service requesting to be picked up. This time the gunman got into the front passenger seat, took $60 in cash and then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall, last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray pants and light-colored shoes.

Anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public also can submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
