Police Officer Brian Sheil, left, and Sgt. Marianne Mikowski were presented with the 105th Precinct’s Cop of the Month honors on June 28 at the monthly meeting of the Precinct Community Council.

Mikowski, supervisor of the precinct’s school safety unit, and Sheil, an officer there, were lauded for their investigation of a robbery and attack on a student at Martin Van Buren High School that left the teenager hospitalized. They made an arrest after interviewing the victim and examining security video.

The awards were presented by Inspector Jeffrey Schiff, right, commanding officer of the 105th Precinct.
