NYPD Detective Dartray Belk of St. Albans recently was one of seven people honored by the University of Hartford Alumni Association with its annual Anchor Award.

Belk, a member of the Class of 2007, has been with the NYPD for 12 years and serves with the Police Commissioner Liaison Unit.

He also is active in numerous community efforts both personally and through the NYPD.

While attending the university, Belk was a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and was an intern with the Hartford Police Department.

Welcome to the discussion.
