The annual Veterans Day Parade in Middle Village, held Sunday, again allowed the community to thank those who served their country.

World War II veterans Arthur Grabiner, top left, and Vincent DeMartino served as the grand marshals of the parade. Grabiner is a Pacific Theater Navy veteran and DeMartino is a European Theater Army vet.

At top right, parade participant Emma Rotundi and her friends from Girl Scout Troop 4372 greet spectators along the route.

Below them, the New York Corrections Department Pipe Band was one of several contingents providing music for the event.

Above, Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 32 marches in the parade.

Above right, brothers Frank and Mike Bilski salute and bring up the rear of the parade.

Below them, historical re-enactors Connor and Richard Amato represent the Museum of American Armor in Old Bethpage, LI and show how to get a parking spot on Metropolitan Avenue.

Welcome to the discussion.
