MHS vs. NYPD volleyball for PBA charity

The Maspeth High School and NYPD volleyball teams faced off on the court to raise funds for the PBA Widows’ and Children’s Fund. Founding Principal Khurshid Abdul-Mutakabbir welcomed the NYPD and the community to the special event at the school.

Club Spotlight on: HOSA

HOSA — future health professionals is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people. This year, its goal is to go to the state competition and complete the HOSA Service Project, 500 hours of community service and donate $500, which is helping the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The HOSA club, led by officers Emma Kelly, Manav Patel, Areeba Aamer and Elaine Rivera, meets on Wednesdays afterschool. The advisor is Maksuda Mannan.
