The New York City Department of Sanitation is reminding city residents that there will be no garbage, recycling or organics collection on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Residents who normally have garbage or organics collected on Tuesdays should place their materials curbside for collection after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Those who normally have recycling collections on Tuesday should place their items at the curb after 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, for collection on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

All DSNY administrative offices will be closed on Election Day.

The DSNY said there will be regular collections, including recycling on Veterans Day, which falls on Friday, Nov. 11, as is policy when two holidays fall within the same week.

All DSNY administrative offices will be closed on Nov. 11.

Further information on the holiday pickup schedule can be found wither by calling 311 or by logging into nyc.gov/sanitation.
