He was introduced Tuesday night by Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-Queens, Nassau); and local luminaries on hand included Council Members Daneek Miller (D-St. Albans) and Donovan Richards (D-Laurelton); Borough President Melinda Katz, Assemblywoman Barbara Clark (D-Queens Village) and former Councilman Archie Spigner.
Pretty much the typical useless crew on hand to congratulate a way over hyped elected official, who in reality has done very little to help improve Jamaica. For Comrie fans, state the monumental achievements he has done in the district.
But it is time to move on to a new day,” Comrie said.
New day, Comrie is just the same old crap in Queens, a reason little ever changes.
A total joke and a reason Jamaica looks like crap and has looked like crap for decades.

Smart voters in District 11 said no to John Liu and yes to Senator Tony Avella, but over in District 14 (where they don’ t have the sharpest tools in the shed), although the people said no to Malcolm, they got brain freeze halfway through the voting process and said yes to the same old crap entrenched Leroy Comrie. This district really does not vote with their entire brain. Same old crap, same old problems. Sure no one really knew how Munir Avery would have been, but we did not that Malcolm was corrupt and not the best elected leader and Comrie, really has not proven his worth in all his years representing his district as council member, one of the worst in Jamaica.
Remember that District 14, when you area is just as bad four years from now as it was a year ago, when you elected Comrie for city council for twelve straight years and your district did not get any better during all that time, but actually got worse.
Unless something drastic happens in the generals come November, this is going to be Comrie Land. GOOD GRIEF. Jamaica loves mediocrity and loves staying at the bottom of the gene pool in Queens.
Oh, what FOOLS. Too many drinking the Comrie Kool-Aid.

The roster of elected officials for Comrie, seems to be a who's who's of the Democratic machine, which is a problem in itself, to keep entrenched leaders in office forever. The Southeast crew backing Comrie is a who's who's of corruption and questionable leaders, a major reason why Jamaica has been a mess for decades.
Something majorly wrong with our NY politics and especially Southeast Queens/Jamaica corruption, which a major story needs to be done on this from top to bottom and everything in between to get the entire story out.

For too long the Jamaica community has seen the same old entrenched political players, many crooked, many corrupt, many useless and and a very small handful who have tried, all to the detriment of the community and its residents. These entrenched players keep themselves comfortably in their positions doing little to help improve Jamaica all the while having the backing of the democratic machine, certain church leaders and residents who have become sheep and have been totally been bamboozled by lies, deceptions and exaggerations from the leaders who have promised this and that, but rarely deliver. And when new potential leaders, such as Navy Vet Bernadette Semple, try to enter the picture, that are cut down by questionable practices that stack the deck in favor of the entrenched. This is just not new to Jamaica but across the entire country. We talk about free elections, but are they really free, I mean with archaic practices as opponents petitioning signatures, gerrymandering and voter suppression, are our elections really that free and do we really get to choose who we want in office, since the entrenched see that newcomers or threats never appear on the ballot. And don’t even get me started with non-political leaders in the community like some of our church leaders, our community boards and the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation headed by President Carlisle Towery, who has been around since the 70’s but what they seemed to have really developed are highly paid executives. Only in Jamaica could they have pull this great sham off with the help of our political leaders.
But let’s get back to Jamaica and to the state senate election in district 14 where corrupt and entrenched Senator Malcolm Smith is going against another entrenched and mediocre at best candidate, Leroy Comire and newcomer attorney, Munir Avery. In the beginning, the people had five choices, including attorney Clyde Vanel and as I mentioned before, Navy Vet Bernadette Semple, but that ended up getting reduced to a corrupt entrenched Smith, entrenched Comrie and Avery. Vanel mysteriously dropped out, just like Comrie mysteriously dropped out of the Queens Borough President race, only to reappear as the Queens Borough Deputy President when Melinda Katz won (obviously a deal was made). Bernadette Semple had been in and out of court due to Comrie’s petitioning of her signatures and so she will not appear on the ballot next week (although we have not heard the last of Ms. Semple, I am sure).
So what the people have ended up with is a crooked incumbent backed by the influential and very questionable church leaders, Rev. Floyd Flake, the machine backed Comrie and the newcomer, Avery Munir. Sounds to me like a very stacked ballot.
As one person in the district told me, “Actually Leroy Comrie is the best person in this race”. That pretty much is the equivalent of saying out of pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer, that colon cancer is the best to have.
But we do have a choice and right now that choice is new comer, Munir Avery. Sure if he gets in, he might not be great or he might be great, but we will never know, if we keep putting in the same old crap over and over again, expecting different results. That is the definition of insanity and the definition of Southeast Queens politics.

Why isn't he asked why and how he got Laurelton resident and Navy Vet, Bernadette Semple, off the ballot. Did he feel threatened by this articulate and educate woman who served her country.
He boasts about his great track record as councilman for 12 years, ah, want to be very specific, Mr. Comrie or is it just truth because you say it. Comrie, who boasts about all the jobs he created in Jamaica yet in another sentence on another day tells about the high unemployment rate in Jamaica. I mean which is it, because the two do not go hand in hand. Comrie cannot even keep track of his own pompous BS. President Obama does not have the power to create jobs for the country, how does a lowly councilman from Jamaica manage to have that kind of power. Next time he brings that subject up, ask for specifics, what jobs, how many, where, how.

At $4000 a month, the city is getting majorly ripped off and for that amount of money, it can be used to house people properly in apartments for a lot less.
One big screwed up system.
For those who are going into those shelters. Every hear about the choice to live in another part of the country, where it is more affordable and you would not need to live in a shelter.
CHOICES folks. Take responsibility.

This whole system is a total mess on so many different angles from the owners of the building, the city, the leaders and the people themselves who occupy such places.
And if you are working a minimum wage job, then you should stay in Pennsylvania or Georgia, where you would be able to live in a place that you can afford, even on minimum wage. As someone who was born and raised in Pittsburgh, there are many places in the area that you you can rent or even buy, where you do not need to shell out a lot of money and it is not like the areas are bad either, they might not be fancy, but they are clean and safe.
I don't get it, you live in states that have way lower costs of living and you come to this extremely expensive city to move into a crappy shelter. Oh, but if the city is picking up your tab courtesy of tax payers, why not.
And you have three kids, one a baby, but yet you cannot even take care of yourself, did you really think you could pop out three kids and take care of them as well, especially without a partner.
Poor life choices and no thinking ahead. People do need to at some point take responsibility for the paths they choose in life or at least be prepared, when those paths get rocky.
By the way, one does not become homeless overnight, it takes a long time to get to that point due to outside factors, poor choices, not being prepared, etc., so please don't want to hear from the bleeding heart far left liberals.
Coming from a Democrat liberal who was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth

Avery was not impressed by anything his opponents had to say about leadership on the jobs/economic development front.
“I have not seen it here,” he said.
THANK YOU Avery. I and other residents are not impressed and have not seen it here either or any other quality of life improvement, including the cleanup of the huge garbage mess in Jamaica, which both are very aware of. It certainly isn't like either of them have not had the time, Comrie was councilman for 12 years and his district was the worse as far as garbage and other quality of life issues and it has not gotten any better with his predecessor, the Comrie handpicked, I. Daneek Miller, who so far has taken a lesson from the master, just ignore it and do nothing.
Munir Avery seems to be the best candidate to help take back Jamaica, while Smith and Comrie have proven year after year, they are no longer worthy of our votes. Both have proved to be huge disappointments despite their claims of being the saviors of Jamaica. And after that rant by Smith about "gentrification", he proves himself to not be a stand-up guy and then make excuses for his poor choices he made while in office.
Enough of the Old Jamaica Guard. Time for change and MUNIR AVERY is that change.

Bravo to young adult, Christopher Peguero, a resident of Jamaica, who like others is fed up with seeing his community turned into a garbage dump while our useless elected leaders, like Comrie, Smith, Cook, Miller, Wills, stand by, twiddling their thumbs, ignoring the issue, taking no action what-so-ever, in other words showing no leadership to a major quality of life issue that has been going on for years. But unlike most people who just complain, Christopher, took the bull by the horns and is doing something.
This young man could very well be the future of Jamaica and one day might even become a leader to replace so many of the useless one who have been riding the coattails of tax payers while accomplishing very little, making excuses and worst, creating a toxic air of corruption all throughout Jamaica politics.
I have a feeling this is only the beginning for Christopher and other young people in the community who are fed up with corrupt and useless leaders who are just standing by watching the Jamaica community going down the tubes day after day, year after year, decade after decade. Now is the time for other young people to join forces with Christopher to take pride in their community and DO SOMETHING, because our current leaders (including many church leaders) have proven what a worthless track record they have.
Also kudos to Senate candidate Munir Avery for showing up and lending a hand, unlike his opponents, Smith and Comrie, who only show up for something useless like a street naming ceremony or some ribbon cutting event while cameras are blazing. Both Christopher and Munir are the breath of fresh air that this community needs to help bring some dignity to a community that unfortunately lost it decades ago due to continual poor leadership, but to hear Comrie in the NY1 debate, he is "The Fixer" and has a proven track record. In your own mind Comrie, not in the real world of Jamaica,
So Clean Up Jamaica Queens welcomes Christopher Peguero and the South East Clean Up Group and supports Munir Avery for Senator.

Simple answer: NO NO NO.
Tony Avella is one of few honest, hard-working politicians who actually cares about the community, stands up for the people and does not worry what the other leaders or his party say, in other words he is a public servant with integrity, something Liu is not.
