Well written and informative article. One can only guess that the kids figured such a small caliber rifle appearing close to the gauge a BB gun might be, would only have broken windows and startled people,
I honestly feel they did not intend to kill anyone at all from the start. I had family that rode that Trolley in those days so I'll count myself as lucky I lost no one in that incident and condolences, even now, to the family who suffered the loss of their daughter whose short life did not give them much time with her.
