    ...and Bill, You are right. They began or ended just south of College Point Blvd. and Roosevelt Avenue.

    I lived there with my parents (1951) at the age of 3 before moving to the .Bland Housing projects on Roosevelt Avenue. Pictures anyone?

    Although this was written three years ago iI will reply.
    I remember the Quonset huts you mention by Lefrak City. I did not live in one although my father could have qualified. However, my mind is probably playing tricks on me as I remember them being a little eastof Lefrak. Maybe off Horace Harding Blvd between the Grand Central Parkway and the Van Wyck Expway. I searched all over the internet trying to find this information on the 'huts' and your is the only article I could find on this subject. Good memories. Thanks.
