Exhibits

The Flushing Art League of Queens will hold its annual juried art show for members and non-members from March 13-24 in the New Amerasia Bank Art Gallery, 41-02 Main St., 2nd floor, Flushing.

National Art League MOMM’S 2003 exhibition will run now through April 5, with a reception on Sunday, March 16 at the National Art League, 44-21 Douglaston Pkwy., Douglaston.

Main Street, Flushing USA is a contemporary photography project that records life in the multicultural community of Flushing. Presented by the Museum of Chinese in the Americas, on exhibit now through May 24, at the International Resource Center Gallery, Flushing Library, 41-17 Main St.

Theatre

“Dial M For Murder,” will be presented March 14-16. Friday and Saturday performances at 8pm and Sunday at 4:30pm at First Presbyterian Church, 15-43 149 St., Whitestone. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors. For reservations, call 718-391-8697.

The Script Theatre Company will present a performance on Saturday, March 15 at 1pm at the Forest Hills Library, 108-19 71 Ave. It will consist of brief comedy vignettes. Volunteers from the audience will be asked to participate.

Music

Temple Sholom, 263-10 Union Tpke., Floral Park, will present an Israeli Cabaret featuring Menashe Glazer with Israeli pop music and Middle Eastern cuisine on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30pm. Cost is $25. Call 718-343-8660.

The Messiah Festival of the Arts, 42-15 105 St., Flushing, free classical concert series features pianist You Ju Lee, performing works by Copland, Beethoven and Schumann on Saturday, March 15 at 7:30pm.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 34-24 203 St., Bayside, presents Joseph Mahowald in a parish benefit concert based on his CD “Wonderful Words of Life” on Sunday, March 23 at 3pm. Lessons

The Woodhaven Library, 85-41 Forest Pkwy., offers a free creative writing workshop for adults on Thursdays, March 20, April 3 and 17, and May 1 and 15, from 6-7:50pm. No experience needed. Come to one or all of the sessions.

Join Temple Sholom of Floral Park, 263-10 Union Tpke., for an Israeli folk dancing class. The classes are to be held on Sundays, March 23, April 13 and 27 between 11:15am and 12:30pm. Special Events

The Queens Society for Humanistic Judaism will hold its annual Purim celebration on Saturday, March 15 at 2pm at Parsons JHS, 76 Rd., east of Parsons Blvd., Flushing.

Annual Children’s Purim Party will be held at Sephardic Jewish Center of Forest Hills, 67-67 108 St., on Sunday, March 16 at 10:30am. Admission is $2.

All children and their parents are invited to participate in a Children’s Purim Party and Carnival on Sunday, March 16 at 10am at the Briarwood Jewish Center, 139-06 86 Ave. The festivities will begin with songs, skits, and a children’s costume parade and contest. The party will be followed by a carnival. Admission is $1.

Chabad of Rego Park invites you in celebrating “Purim Jerusalem” on Monday, March 17 at 7pm at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, 37-10 114 St., Corona. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. St. Adalbert’s Lost Miracles Bereavement support group meeting for loss of a newborn or miscarriage will hold its next meeting on Monday, March 17 at 7:30pm at St. Adalbert’s lower church meeting room, 52-40 84 St., Elmhurst.
