Exhibits

A Sept. 11 Memorial Exhibit is open at the Poppenhusen Institute, 114-04 14 Rd., College Point, for at least one year. Tour hours are Monday-Tuesday, 10am-7:30pm, Wednesdays, 10am-3pm, Fridays, 2-6pm and Saturdays, by appointment only.

The Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts presents an exhibition of fine art and crafts, now through Dec. 29 at the Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd.

The Louis Armstrong Archives exhibit, “And the Award Goes To,” will be displayed now through Dec. 2 at Queens College Benjamin S. Rosenthal Library, Room 332, 65-30 Kissena Blvd., Flushing Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm. The exhibit examines the broad range of awards granted to Armstrong throughout and after his lifetime. Theatre

Tickets are now available for the Parkside Players fall production of “No Sex Please, We’re British.” Performance dates are Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1, 6 and 7. Showtimes are 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sunday. The performance will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 103-15 Union Tpk., Forest Hills. Tickets prices are $10; $8 for seniors. Music

A 3-star Chanukah treat featuring the internationally known singer Ricky Pen, Israeli singer Yaacov Baris, bringing new sounds of sacred and folk music plus The Chorale Singer, conducted by Zvi Klein with Ladino, Yiddish, English and Hebrew favorites on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2:30pm at Rego Park Jewish Center, 97-30 Queens Blvd. Tickets are $15. Julius Grossman Chamber Orchestra concerts, featuring cello soloist Anja Wood and works by Bruch/Richter, Vivaldi, Beethoven and Mendelssohn, will perform at Flushing House, 38-20 Bowne Street, Flushing on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 3pm.

Lecture

Four prominent women of the Moslem, Sikh, Jewish and Christian faiths will present their perspectives in a symposium hosted by the Interfaith Council of Southwest Queens on Monday, Dec. 9. The program will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Parish Center, 85-15 101 Ave., Ozone Park at 7:45pm.

The New York Metropolitan Country Music Association will hold a Country & Western dance at the Glendale Memorial building, 72-02 Myrtle Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 30 featuring Wendy Mae Reno and the Lost Dogs. Special Events

The Sisterhood of the Sephardic Jewish Center will host a Hanukah Party on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 10:30am. There will be live entertainment, including a magician for the children, refreshments, gifts, raffle and door prizes. Admission is $2 per person.

An open mic night will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6:30pm at the Flushing Library, 41-17 Main St.

Safad Chapter of Hadassah invites everyone to attend a Chanukah party on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30pm at the Reform Temple of Forest Hills, 71-11 112 St. There will also be a Chanukah Sing-along, candle lighting and deli dinner with latkes. Lavender Latkes of Queens (a social organization for GLBT Jews and their families and friends) invites all to an all-inclusive Fourth annual Chanukah Party on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30pm at the Astoria Center of Israel, 27-35 Crescent St. Latkes and beverages will be served. Support Groups

St. Adalbert’s Bereaved Siblings and Children Grieve Too support group meetings adult loss of a brother or sister, loss experienced by a child in grades 1-8 meets on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7:30pm at St. Adalbert’s lower church, 52-40 84 St., Elmhurst.
