I read your Nov. 22 editorial “The Red Cross let us down.” What you wrote about the American Red Cross was no surprise to me. I am 87 years old and remember World War II and the many sacrifices that were made. I remember too that someone in the service was annoyed that he had to pay for a cup of coffee and doughnut that the Red Cross was serving. Why?
The American Red Cross is supposed to help people without charge. Doesn’t it get enough donations? Needless to say, since that incident I have never given a dime to the group.
In view of their actions since Sandy hit, I think it’s time there was an investigation made of the American Red Cross.
