Welcoming the holidays at Queens Center

The borough took an hour off from storms, election results and the economy on Saturday to kick off the start of the 2012 holiday season with the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the Queens Center mall. Families and children, hundreds of people of all ages, celebrated with lights, confetti, music and dancing, and even a stopover by Santa on break from his planning at the North Pole.

SSSH! Don’t tell Mayor Bloomberg, but Santa brought milk and cookies for all the good little girls and boys on his nice list, who seemed to be pretty much everyone in attendance.
