The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a group of suspects wanted for a robbery.

On April 24, at 3:30 p.m., the victim, a 14-year-old male, was walking in the vicinity of 30th Road and 14th Street in Astoria when the five suspects approached him and took his Samsung cell phone.

There were no reported injuries.

The suspects are described as black males in their mid to late teens.

According to video surveillance, one of the suspects, wearing a white T-shirt, stopped the victim and shoved him into the doorway of a building.

The suspect’s friends, one of whom was dribbling a basketball, crowded around the victim before taking his phone and walking away.

When the victim attempted to follow the group, the teen in the white T-shirt pushed him away again.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.

Welcome to the discussion.
