Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside) and more than 100 Woodside and Sunnyside residents and families came together to beautify the neighborhood.

Together, the volunteers weeded, cultivated, cleaned and planted 2,400 bulbs in tree beds along Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue on Saturday.

Among the volunteers were representatives and members from the Partnership for Parks, the Sunnyside/Woodside Boys & Girls Club, the Sunnyside/Woodside Girl Scouts, BIG! Compost, Greening Western Queens, Gentleman of Quality NYU, TreesNY and New York Cares.

The beautification day took place throughout Sunnyside, cleaning streets in both residential and commercial areas that were littered with garbage or lacking green landscapes.

Welcome to the discussion.
