On Sunday, June 24 Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Health Care Center held its 10th annual Community Health Fair in the facility. The event included blood pressure and blood glucose screens, pulse oxymetry, vision checks and glaucoma screens, chiropractic screening, and healthcare information on rehabilitation therapy, nutritional counseling, in-home emergency response systems, Alzheimer’s disease, dialysis, medical equipment and assisted-living communities. Information on financial and estate planning was provided by a bank and elder law attorneys. The NYC Queens Community Board 3 was also represented. Children were treated to face painting and glitter art tattoos. The crowd enjoyed tai chi demonstrations, a salsa performance, a salsa aerobics class, dance movement therapy and karaoke. There was something for everyone at the fair.

Participants included the Regal Heights staff, Forest Hills Hospital, North Shore LIJ Homecare Network, Queens Artificial Kidney Center, Ronald Fatoullah and Associates, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Senior Care Emergency Medical Services, the Alzheimer’s Association, Citibank, Philips Lifeline Alert, Homecare Concepts, White Care Physical Therapy, Health Source Chiropractic, Evercare, Madison York Assisted Living Community and Aliah Homecare.
