Parents with a stroller brigade, more kids and politicians rallied in front of the Queens Library at Broadway in Long Island City to protest the mayor’s proposal to cut the Queens Library’s budget by 31 percent.

Councilmen Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside), left, and Peter Vallone Jr. (D-Astoria) showed their support.

The proposed financial plan would reduce funding from fiscal year 2012, which was approximately $83 million, to approximately $56 million for FY 2013.

That would be more than $26 million less funding from the city for library services, which include public-use computer sessions, educational programs, job search resources and homework help for students after school.

The budget must be finalized this month.
