Each year St. Michael’s Cemetery in East Elmhurst pays tribute to one of its famous occupants.

More than 50 residents came out last Saturday to the Scott Joplin Memorial Concert, which commemorates the “King of Ragtime.”

Author Edward Berlin of “King of Ragtime: Scott Joplin and His Era” and Rick Benjamin, the founder and conductor of the featured Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, gave background on the late composer and pianist being celebrated.
