David Wright and Daniel Murphy aren’t the only Queens baseball players enjoying solid seasons on the diamond; some youth ballers are having career years of their own.
Led by pitchers Christian Nunez, left, and George Psahos, the New York Angels, an Astoria-based youth travel baseball team, won their Sunday games 13-3 and 13-8 to sweep a doubleheader in Brooklyn.
The Angels also stole an incredible 29 bases during the two-game sweep.
In its second season, the Angels play in the Williamsburg Sports League and participate in tournaments throughout the city and Long Island during the spring, summer and fall.
The pitching duo of Nunez, of Queens Village, and Psahos, of Woodside, will look to lead the Angels to many more winning weekends as the weather warms.
