Two 12-year-old girls were groped in Elmhurst by the same man last month, according to police.
On Nov. 7, a man driving a white sedan on 54th Avenue pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl and got out of the car. He asked the girl if she knew an address and showed her a piece of paper with writing on it. The girl got into the man’s car, where he touched her “intimate parts” through her clothing, police said. The girl then got out of the car and the man fled the scene.
On Nov. 25, a different 12-year-old girl was stopped by a man driving a white car on 55th Avenue, police said. The man asked for directions and showed the girl a piece of paper with numbers on it. He then groped her through her clothing.
The man is about 6 feet tall and 40 years old. His car is described as a white sedan with a sticker on the driver’s door depicting a green, white and orange or red flag with an eagle in the center.
Long Island City rapist
Three suspects are wanted in connection with a rape that occurred in Long Island City on Sunday, Dec. 4.
At about 3:45 a.m., the victim, a 20-year-old woman, was walking near Vernon Boulevard and 10th Street when she was grabbed from behind by two of the suspects, police said.
The men pulled her into a parking lot and held her down between two vehicles, while a third man raped her.All three men then fled the scene.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment and released.
The rapist is described as white, between the ages of 25 and 30, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with dirty blonde hair and light-colored eyes.
Jackson Heights attempted murder
A man is wanted for the attempted murder of two uniformed police officers in Jackson Heights.
At 3:55 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, the officers were walking near 76th Street and Roosevelt Avenue when they were alerted by a passerby that a man was acting suspiciously at the corner of 37th Road and 76th Street, police said.
The officers walked to the spot and observed a man wearing a black trench coat and a fake beard, a hat and dark glasses.
The officers approached the man and asked him for identification, at which point he removed his hands from his pockets, pulling out a black revolver and fired two shots at the policemen before fleeing southbound on 77th Street. The officers chased after him but couldn’t catch him.
The fake beard, hat and glasses were dropped during the chase. Neither officer was hurt.
The suspect is described as being in his 30s and about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build.
Jackson Heights bank robbery
The police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Jackson Heights.
At about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, a man entered the TD Bank located at 73-14 37 St. and passed the teller a demand note.
The teller complied with the note and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The man then fled the location south on 74th Street.
He is described as white, in his 50s, and about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. He’s bald and was last seen wearing an off-white jacket and carrying a black messenger bag.
