The lineup of parades in Western Queens will begin on Monday, May 29, with the annual Woodside Memorial Day Parade. A Catholic Mass at 10 a.m. will precede the parade at St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church.
The march starts at about 11 a.m. at the Vietnam Memorial near St. Sebastian’s School at 57th Street and Woodside Avenue. This ZIP code, 11317, lost the most residents in the nation during the Vietnam War, according to St. Sebastian’s Catholic War Veterans Post 870 Commander Jerry Olt.

James Dimiceli, managing director of the Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home in Woodside, will be the parade’s grand marshal.
“He has been very helpful with veterans’ burials over the years,” Olt said.
“I’m totally 1,000 percent honored to do this,” Dimiceli said.
