The NYPD is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a man suspected in six grand larcenies last October and November.
Police say the victims called a number from fliers posted on a telephone pole to set up appointments to see apartments.
After showing the apartments, the suspect, a male Hispanic, requests a deposit to hold the apartment.
When the victim tries move in the suspect’s cell phone has been disconnected.
Two of the incidents took place at the same apartment on 42nd Avenue in Elmhurst; one on Denman Street in Flushing; and three at one s in Corona.
The victims were taken for sums between $1,400 and $2,300.
The suspect is described as being in his 30s and 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with dark hair.
