Queens Library honors latest GED recipients at Long Island City branch
Marilyn Ferrer of Far Rockaway and new graduate who is also expecting a child soon, smiles during the ceremony as names are called to receive diplomas. The graduation was held at the Long Island City library branch.
During student Raymond Rolle’s speech, graduates hold up their diplomas. He received his GED after studying at the Long Island City branch. “We’re just getting started, hold them up and tell them, you earned it. We’re just getting started,” he said.
Oscar Ruiz-Santos shows off his cap and new diploma. He does not know where he wants to go to college but is considering studying computer science or information technology.
