One person died in an overnight crash between a bus and a van at the intersection of 39th Avenue and 69th Street in Woodside, police said.

The accident happened at around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30.

According to police, a Q53 bus was traveling westbound on 39th Avenue when it collided with a 2007 Ford Econoline van that was traveling east on 39th Avenue.

The driver of the van, a 47-year-old man, was killed. His name has not been released because the police are waiting on family notification.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead on arrival after he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

The 46-year-old bus driver was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Three people on the bus declined medical treatment, police said.

Investigators said no criminality was suspected, but an investigation will be continued.
