A 34-year-old man was struck by a Manhattan-bound E train in Woodside on Monday morning in an apparent suicide attempt.

The victim, a Latino man whose name has not yet been released, jumped in front of a train passing through the Northern Boulevard station at 5:30 a.m. and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he is being treated for head trauma at an intensive care unit, police officials confirmed.

Police officials also said the train conductor witnessed the victim jumping in front of the train but did not see any suspects linked to the incident.

Manhattan-bound M and R trains were delayed following the incident, running express between the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza stations, MTA officials confirmed. Normal routes were reinstated two hours later.

The incident was the second of its kind in two days. A man jumped in front of a World Trade Center-bound E train at the 23rd Street station in Manhattan on Sunday morning. Eight people have been struck by a train within the past week.
