If anyone has an empty 1,000-square-foot space within the 11101 ZIP code and is looking for renters, the post office may be interested.

The Queens Plaza post office branch is looking for a new location before its current site’s lease comes to an end this summer.

The post office, located at 24-18 Queens Plaza South, is in search of a space slightly smaller in size that will be modified to accommodate postal operations and customer services.

According to the United States Postal Service, the owner of the building in Long Island City has different plans for the storefront once the branch moves out in August.

The relocation plan was brought to Community Board 2’s attention during its monthly board meeting on May 1. The Postal Service is taking written comments on the proposal, accepting them until May 16.

Comments show be mailed to Joseph J. Mulvey of the U.S. Postal Service at 2 Congress St., Room 8, Milford, MA 01757.
