JetBlue has moved its headquarters from Forest Hills to the Brewster Building, at 27-01 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City, and kicked off its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday. The move will bring close to 1,000 JetBlue employees into the area every day.
Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, left, with JetBlue President and CEO Dave Barger, was one of many lawmakers to attend the event. She praised the airline’s decision to remain within the five boroughs.
“JetBlue’s continued investment in our city means more jobs for New Yorkers," Maloney said in a prepared statement. “It’s truly New York’s hometown airline, and I look forward to JetBlue and New York City continuing to ascend to a brighter future together.”
