Victim Lou Rispoli’s husband, family and friends including Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside) handed out more than 1,000 fliers describing two supects in Rispoli’s murder, to No. 7 train commuters on Tuesday night.

Police released sketches last Friday of the two suspects in the October murder of the longtime Sunnyside resident and gay rights activist.

One suspect is white and in his 20s. The other man is thought to be Hispanic and in his 30s.

The Police Department, the Mayor’s Office and Crime Stoppers are offering a $22,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for the attack. Private individuals have contributed an additional $3,000, boosting the total to $25,000. All information can be reported anonymously at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477).

Rispoli, 62, was beaten with a blunt object outside a large apartment complex at 41-00 43 Ave. around 2 a.m. on Oct. 20. A witness saw the attack from across the street and called the police. He said two men hit Rispoli while a tall man waited at a car. Officials are unsure if the murder was a hate crime.

“Our community will never forget what these men did to Lou Rispoli,” Van Bramer said. “The NYPD’s release of new sketches shows that there is progress being made on this case but it is important we continue to raise awareness as a community. These three suspects think that they got away with a crime that robbed us of a good man who loved his neighborhood. I will not rest until I see these men punished for this heinous crime.”

Rispoli, an administrator at Greenwich House Music School in Manhattan, was an active member of the Sunnyside and gay communities. He had been legally married for one year to his partner of 32 years, Danyal Lawson.
