A Florida resident traveling eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue in Elmhurst was allegedly driving drunk when he fatally struck a man near 92nd Street.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, cops found Romulo Mejia, 42, with a 35-year-old passenger ,and an unidentified man, who had been struck by Mejia’s vehicle.

EMS responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene and transported the driver and his passenger to Elmhurst General Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
