An Astoria mom is angry at the NYPD for its slow response to an incident involving two young girls and a crotch-grabbing pervert, according to the Daily News.

Julia Hess said her daughter and a female friend, both age 10, ran screaming into her 29th Street apartment and told her that a man in his 20s, who had been chatting with them in the elevator and had asked them their names, got out at the same floor, grabbed his crotch and asked them “Do you want to see it?” the report said.

A surveillance video shows the man touching the girls’ behinds as they got off the elevator at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hess called 911 and immediately reported the incident, but it took three more calls and nearly three hours before officers arrived, according to the report.

Hess went to the 114th Precinct at around 7:15 p.m. and that’s when she received a phone call that the police were at her home.

She was disappointed by the delayed assistance and told the newspaper that if the cops had arrived sooner they might have been able to catch the assailant whom she said lingered in the building for two or three minutes after the incident. No arrests have yet been reported.

“In light of what happened in Brooklyn, you can’t let that go,” one Astoria resident who preferred to remain anonymous said referring to the murder of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky.

Multiple instances of groping have been reported in Astoria and several arrests have been made according to City Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. (D-Astoria). This week another alleged deviant who has been accused of passing women on his bicycle and then grabbing them inappropriately has been arrested, according to published reports. Miguel Hermenegildo, 33, is being charged with sexual abuse, forcible touching and harassment.

Another Queens man, Jose Alfredo Perez Hernandez, 18, of East Elmhurst, has also been arrested for allegedly fondling several women on the Upper East Side, according to published reports. He has been charged with sexual abuse, burglary and forcible touching, in three separate incidents.

Hernandez allegedly groped one woman on the subway, followed another into the building where she lived and inappropriately touched a third, according to published reports. He is also believed to be responsible for nine other groping incidents over the last eight months.
