Wear your red, white and blue to these two Memorial Day events in Western Queens (neither on Monday).
On Thursday, May 23, a concert will be held to honor the men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country, as well as veterans and active troops of the Armed Forces and members of first responder agencies from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Windmuller Bandshell at 52nd Street and 39th Drive.
Following the concert officials will light Woodside’s “Canyon of Heroes” in celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Doughboy statue and the dedication of the “Garden of Heroes” in Doughboy Park.

On Saturday, May 25, enjoy a Memorial Day fair at Sunnyside Gardens Park, 48-21 39th Ave.
The fair features many kids’ activities such as an obstacle course, bouncy houses, kiddie nail salon and clowns. There will also be a barbeque with beer and juice.
