A suspect in the armed ATM robberies in Woodside is in jail.

A detective squad from the 108th Precinct arrested Shadie Alsaiedi, 23, on May 3 at 8:30 p.m. at a residence in the Bronx. An NYPD spokesman said the man was arrested following a Crime Stoppers tip.

Three robberies occurred on April 12, 18 and 23. According to police reports, the robber forced three men at gunpoint to withdraw money from the same bodega’s ATM near the intersection of 44th Street and 50th Avenue. Alsaiedi was positively identified in the April 12 robbery. He faces charges for one count of robbery in the first degree. If convicted, Alsaiedi faces a minimum of five years and up to 25 years in prison.

The April 18 and 23 robberies are still under investigation. Alsaiedi is a suspect, according to NYPD.

His first court date will be on May 21. He is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bail.

Residents were concerned about the multiple armed robberies in Woodside. A town hall meeting discussing these incidents and other crimes was held on April 30.
