There were a few bumps in the road, but now there will finally be a bump ... in the road.

Nicholas Mosquera, a spokesman for the city Department of Transportation, said the speed hump on 80th Street between Jamaica Avenue and Park Lane South that was approved by Community Board 9 last year is “pending installation.” He did not give a specific date it will be installed, but residents noticed a new sign on the street this week warning drivers of the bump.

“This will save lives,” said Woodhaven resident and Community Board 9 member Joel Steven Kuzai, who posted a picture of the new sign on Twitter Monday.
