The Ozone Park branch of the Queens Library will close at the end of business Friday for repairs, according to library spokeswoman Joanne King.
The building, which is located at 92-14 Rockaway Blvd. on the corner of Rockaway Boulevard and 93rd Street, will get an entirely new heating and ventilation system. King says the library will be closed for about three and a half weeks while the work is done. The project will cost $420,000, King said.
In the meantime, residents can use nearby branches in Howard Beach at 92-06 156 Ave., the Lefferts branch at 103-34 Lefferts Blvd. or beginning on Aug. 20, the Woodhaven branch at 85-41 Forest Pkwy., which is reopening then after a massive five-month-long renovation.
A number of library branches have undergone renovations in recent years and two, Far Rockaway and Court Square in Long Island City, closed for repairs this summer. The Mitchell-Linden branch closed in June and will move to a new location next door.
