Track panel work is leading to overnight service suspensions along the A line’s elevated section in South Queens.

The work began last weekend and caused the shutdown of the line between Euclid Avenue and Howard Beach-JFK Airport — as well as the entire Lefferts Boulevard spur — all day Saturday and Sunday. The work continues this week through Friday between midnight and 5 a.m., causing shutdowns along the same stretch during overnight hours.

MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said the work is to replace track panels, the wood that connects the rails, at the Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard stations.

During the service suspensions, bus service will be offered in two legs: from Euclid Avenue to Lefferts Boulevard, stopping at all stations along Liberty Avenue; and Euclid Avenue to Howard Beach, stopping at 80th Street, 88th Street, Rockaway Boulevard, as well as Aqueduct Racetrack and Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue inside Aqueduct’s grounds and Howard Beach-JFK Airport at the station’s entrance in the long-term Parking lot.
