A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Ozone Park early Monday morning.

The shooting occurred at around 3:30 a.m. near the corner of 80th Street and Rockaway Boulevard, outside a strip club. The man, who has not been identified, was shot in the face and a friend attempted to rush the victim to the hospital, but he died on the way.

Police stopped the car the victim and his friend were in near 89th Street and Rockaway Boulevard after the driver allegedly ran a number of red lights. Police say the shooting may have stemmed from an argument that began inside the club. No suspect has been named and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
